Good idea or not?

Do you know anyone that has had this done on their vehicle? Gas and break pedals changed to levers to push or pull. I have nerve damage in my feet so I'm getting harder to feels the gas and break pedals.
This has crossed my mind as I have peripheral neuropathy(nerve damage) in my feet as well. At some point I foresee my wife taking over driving duties. That, or maybe start using Uber or Lyft, and having groceries delivered and other necessities taken care of from home.

I thought that to convert a pedal driven car to a level driven one was some complicated thing only people like Pres. FDR could afford. But almost any full service automobile repair shop can do it. It costs but it isn't exorbitant.

Did FDR drive after contracting polio? I never saw any pictures or footage of him doing so.

Wait. First find out the cause of your nerve damage! I had what I thought was neuropathy on the tops of my feet and what I thought was arthritis and a miniscus tear in my knee. The pain and and numbness lasted for over a year but the last 2 months I couldn't walk at all.
I was shuffling and using a cane. I couldn't even bend my knee to get in bed. My daughters were helping me with that and with dog walking and everything else. I thought I would be in a wheelchair the rest of my life. It depressed me.

I did something that healed me in one week and it was not medication. I had worn some old tennis shoes I had worn for well over a year that I had repeatedly washed in the washer and sometimes dried in the dryer. They were a good fit and perfect at first but lost their support over time even though they still looked new...and my feet shrunk a half an inch...so they were too big for me. Finally, I decided to get some new tennis shoes.

I bought Brooks Revel Tennis Shoes in a half size smaller!!

WOW...I felt better instantly and within a week I was walking again without much pain. After 2 weeks I walked about 2 miles. I took 2 nighttime ibuprofen that night because I was afraid I did too much too soon. I woke up the next day and my legs and feet felt 80% better! I then did 4 flights of stairs and walked the dogs 3 times. I'm practically 100% better now. I'd say 90%.

I think those mechanisms would work very well,
that @Robert59 was asking about. Though I have not used them first hand, myself.
Some places have a local non-profit, which helps people learn to use them, and also helps with possible funding options, for those who need that as well.

I’ve read great things about these shoes.
They are pricey at $100 but you can't put a price on quality of life.
If you go to an orthopedic surgeon and get him to write you a prescription for shoes then Medicare will pay for it I think, but then you have to copay a doctors visit for that. Long term, think of all you save in medical bills.

I know there are adaptors that folks can use if disabled. I think some may be attached to steering wheel
