I just got a prescription for this yesterday and took the first, light dose, last night. It's weird and I have to take 1 1/2 tonight then tomorrow I take a heavier dose. I didn't like the feeling it gave me. Anyone?

Gralise is a branded dose-pack of once a day Gabapentin.

No wonder you felt weird, I took Gabapentin for a couple weeks, which was supposed to remedy my peripheral neuropathy. I just stopped taking it, it wasn't helping my PN, but just made me feel foggy headed and weird.

I take Gabapentin twice a day. I was prescribed 4x a day, but the neuro said to start with two and if that wasn't working, ramp it up to 3x and then 4x. Seems like 2x is "helping" my PN (it has definitely improved but hasn't disappeared) and has done wonders for my sciatica. I did go up to 3x for a while but didn't see any difference, so I went back to 2x.

Is the Gabapentin helping the numbness at all? Or just the stabbing pain lightening bolts?

Hasn't done anything for the numbness, but the "electric shocks" (which is the best way I can describe it) in my toes and feet are definitely better. I also no longer feel that my feet are burning up.

I haven't had any side effects from the Gabapentin.....I know a lot of people have side effects from it.

I was prescribed gabapentin for a while, for pain from a pinched nerve. It helped a lot, and then the pinch resolved so no more pain. I didn't have any side effects from it, not even sleepiness or anything. My old dog Harold, now deceased, took gabapentin for several years for the effects of a neck injury before I adopted him. It helped him a lot, and he didn't appear to have any side effects. The vet had prescribed him several heavy duty pain meds prior and they didn't seem to help. The gabapentin did, and without the wooziness of the other ones.

Thanks to all who replied. I've stopped it after 2 days. It was awful for me!
