Hadn't seen them in person since Dec. 2009 (it's a long story and one I'd rather not get into) but my son, DIL and two of my three grandkids came by for a visit from Georgia three weeks ago for a day and a half and we had a really good visit.....grand daughter and DIL doted on me to the point that it was almost embarrassing. :)

Here's me, my 50+ year old son from my first wife, grand daughter and grand son.......in case you're confused about who's who I'm the barefooted old guy with chicken legs.

Amazing timing for this post. Out of the blue, my 'missing' grand-daughter showed up at the door today! She was crying her eyes out, telling me how sorry she was for not responding to emails and calls to her answering machine. She had issues with her mother (my daughter) and just avoided all contacts and connections with her original home. After several years, she and I are as loving as ever. Unfortunately, I had to swear not to tell her mother she was here. I don't really understand all the issues between the mother/daughter, but I gave my word and will keep it. Hopefully, someday, we can have a real family reunion. I'm so glad your family is coming together again - it really does mean so much!
