Great article about how 1 meeting spawned tens of thousands of infections

Even though I worked as a public health representative for the state of N.J. for years it boggles my mind how efficiently and quickly scientists were able to track this particular strain of the virus across the globe! How ironic that it started at a conference for biotech executives. The difference in the number of spreads from the Sturgis motorcycle rally as cited by @Lethe200 a couple of weeks ago and @Pink Biz today is another perfect example of how fast this virus proliferates. Difference is, however the conference goers had no idea this pandemic was upon us...the bikers knew but didn't think it was important enough to properly protect themselves and others.

COVID isn't impressed by tricked out motorcycles, gnarly tattoos or gang affiliations. It's an unprincipled opportunist that will take down a nun as effectively as a Hell's Angel badass.

This was utterly predictable, given the videos and photos that emerged from the Sturgis rally.

Foolish, preventable and very sad.
