Great news concerning my Diabetes

About two months ago my doctor said I no longer need to take Insulin. My A1C level is 5.5. The doctor said that is fantastic.

I have never used any formal diet. I don't exercise. I did cut out my sweet snacks. I allow myself some Lay's potato chips, but need to ration them out. The Glucose level will go up if I eat too much, too fast.

This morning I had some low glucose alarms on my FreeStyle Libre sensor. Oddly enough that may have been caused when I ate a bunch of black licorice over the past couple days. My Glucose level went up to over 200.

I gave away the rest of the licorice. But maybe the excess glucose from earlier eating sessions provoked a reaction that ended up dropping the glucose too low?

I'm happy.

that's excellent news.. well done you....(y)

Wonderful news! Your low blood sugar was likely due to your having eaten the candy. Rebound or reactive hypoglycemia occurs when blood sugar drops after a spike in blood sugar because your body overcompensates by producing too much insulin to deal with the spike.
