Greetings from Los Angeles

Hello all! I am recently retired at 66. I enjoy cooking, coffee bean roasting, reading and now that I have the time, I am looking forward to getting back into my daily long walk regimen. I'm from Chicago but moved to LA 10 years ago. Now my wife and I are missing the seasons and looking to move closer to the East Coast. Glad to be here and looking forward to posting.

Welcome to retirement and to this group....come in and have some fun......

Welcome, "Longwalker" 🚶‍♂️

Your home must smell great, with coffee beans roasting! 🤩

It's good to see that you've already entered into some of our threads.
Even though the winters are long, here in the northeast USA, I think that I too would miss the 4 seasons, if I lived one of the wonderful places, that are missing 1 or 2 or 3 of them.

The roasting produces a lot of smoke so I roast on the patio. But the neighbors like it!

Welcome from Toronto! Your neighbourhood must smell wonderful when you roast those coffee beans 😋
Interesting to hear that you miss the four seasons .. I enjoy them too.

Hi,oldlongwalker welcome glad you found us, congrats on your retirement
As you learn your way around the site you'll meet great group of members from around the world
You&I have something in common,I'm a life long walker, never felt comfortable behind the wheel. I take 2-3 walks every day {weather permitting} I prefer walking in fresh air than going to a gym
Enjoy yourself here at SF cool place to hang out every day

Belated welcome from just north of you. We certainly do need precipitation but miss the good old days when most of it piled up in the Sierras and melted steadily most of the year.

I’ve lived in four seasons and gave zero desire to do so again. Winter is something I’d rather choose on purpose to visit, snow chains at ready, when the sprit moves me. I don’t enjoy surprise visits from winter let alone visits which drag on and on. Good luck locating your dream spot.

Thank You! We used to visit Florida every year when we lived in Chicago. Wife's father had a condo on Singer Island. Fond memories of lunch at our favorite restaurant in Palm Beach, Cafe L'Europe.
I am familiar with that very pretty area!
