Greg Wallace is the latest public execution

Men and women in professional environments need to be acutely aware of the need to behave in a professional manner. "That's what men do" is no excuse for bad behavior, nor to be given a pass to continue doing so. If this man was warned and continued with egregious behavior, then he deserved to lose his job. Why should female employees be subjected to crude, rude behavior every day (and Lord knows how many times a day) because some guy gets a slap on the wrist for bad behavior? It has happened too many times already in workplaces.

United was very strict about telling inappropriate jokes or using any profanity. Mostly it was zero tolerance. That goes for every employee, including baggage handlers, marshals and gate agents. We had a pilot drop the “F” bomb over the radio to an ATC and he was lucky. He was suspended for 30 days without pay.

You think what some Senior Captains made a year, say they flew 1000 hours and made $300 or more per hour. That 30 days can be costly. Why would anyone risk losing a job making over $300,000 a year? I know some of us get excited when the ATC doesn’t always give the same directions. It’s happenEd to me. One time, the ATC will say “Land on Runway 15-right,” and the next moment, he says “Land on Runway 15-Left.” It’s upsetting, but you have to remember we are human and a mistake is always possible. You just ask them to please repeat their last transmission.
