Grim and infuriating. Almost 50% deaths in Europe from nursing homes

It's sad but I get it.

I was reading that the Swiss are not including nursing home deaths in their statistics.

I suppose they figure that if you have enough underlying medical conditions to be in a skilled nursing facility your death is inevitable.

Also in many cases, nursing home residents have DNR/MOLST instructions on file with instructions that would prevent treatment.

I read an article in the newspaper (Toronto Star) yesterday that we should be more concerned about asymptomatic people. These are the ones that could have the virus but display little or no symptoms. Imagine them working closely in a nursing home. Imagine them starting a second wave of the virus after restrictions are lifted from this one. The problem with this is the testing and how long it will take to find out if these people have antibodies from virus. Hmmmmmm...
