Grocery Stores Stocked in Utah

Yesterday we passed several grocery stores with the parking lots filled with cars. You know, like the old days before the virus. Due to my age and pre existing medical problems I dare not go in. But today I walked down to our small neighborhood store and found it fully stocked.

Eggs, chocolate milk, distilled water, toilet paper, and other items. So while I didn‘t enter the large chain stores, due to the amount of people shopping, I assume they are stocked as well. What’s funny is the county is under quarantine and only 25 people are supposed to be in a store at a time.

Our local nearest small store... is the one place I wouldn't go tbh. It's very busy at the best of times being the only store for several miles, and people can't help but be very close to each other while just walking around the aisles, or standing in the queue ..at least in the supermarket the aisles are wide...

There were only three shoppers in the store, including me. I think everyone was at the larger, cheaper, chain stores. I got some goodies-those small 100 calorie fruit pies, and a pound of hamburger for dinner tonight. I really enjoyed the walk there.

I work for the largest grocery store chain in the state. We still have shortages of tp, hand sanitizers and bottled water (off & on). I work in the meat department. We are having issues with keeping bacon, different varieties of sausages and packaged lunch meats on hand.

People, for the most part, have been very understanding about the shortages. Last week, having eggs on hand were an issue.

One really nice lady came up to me and thanked me for doing my job. I told her that she was welcomed. She asked if I was retired. I told her I was, just working p/t. She asked me what I did previously. I told her that I was a pilot for United Airlines. She said, “No, really, what did you do.” I told her I was a barber. She believed that.
