GRRRRRR, Want to Drown Neighbors

fureverywhere

beloved friend who will always be with us in spiri
Location
Northern NJ, USA
Sorry for the gallows humor poke at Michael Vick. I just posted another complaint about the house down the street. This time when animal protection calls I'll give them all the info I can. Maybe there are enough other complaints they can make a case. There is this house, no house number...intentionally I believe. Several times a week you pass this house and there are a group of young men in their teens and twenties.

Behind the broken wooden fence will be a bunch of pit bulls, mixed ages and genders. Some of the big dogs have truck chain instead of a collar. Then next time you go by...the same humans and different dogs. They bust dog fighters all around us regularly. I don't who else I can report them to. There must be somebody who can investigate. I contacted the ASPCA.

For all the responsible owners trying to change the myth that our dogs are monsters...then you have these idiots.

Uh oh Fur, you know what's going on! Keep calling the police. In my town the water Dept assigns house numbers, which I always thought strange. Could that be the case in your town? In any case the police can use the house description. There may even be drugs involved, who knows. Just keep your head down, be careful but keep calling. I wish I could call for you!

I'd be furious Fur! People like this should be behind bars in the least! They are one of the main reasons that this breed has such a bad name, others are just individual owners who chain in the yard and make their dogs mean, keeping them hungry and abused, ready to fight. Please keep reporting, here may be a number of help. http://response-a-bull.org/reporting-animal-cruelty/

Reporting Dogfighting

Know the signs:

  • Equipment associated with dogfighting, like multiple cages, pits, rings, heavy chains, weights, *wooden ramps and treadmills
  • Presence of multiple pit bulls kept separate, out on chains, or locked up. Many of these dogs are kept chained in backyards, basements, or warehouses.
  • Dogs with wounds, scars and untreated injuries
  • Blood spatters
  • Veterinarian supplies
  • An owner abusing dogs
  • Dogfighting magazines
  • Heavy traffic of people and dogs to and from a particular property
Dog fighting is a felony in all 50 states.

Call your local police department and animal control agency. Give them as many details as you can about the suspected animal fighting operation. You do not need to give your name to law enforcement to report your information.

The HSUS offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in dogfighting. If you have information about illegal animal fighting in your area, you can call HSUS’s animal fighting tip line at 877-TIP-HSUS and your information will be kept confidential.

Never approach someone you suspect of being involved in dog fighting. These individuals are often linked to gangs and other criminal activities.

Thank you Sea, I just left a message on the Tip Line too. Fortunately there's a few blocks between us, yes I am afraid...these are the kind of beasts that would plot revenge. But I want to see them busted. I've gone up to pet some of the dogs. They're just Callie on steroids, nothing more...then they disappear and are replaced by a new group. I don't know what's going on but it ain't right.

You're welcome Fur. Be careful my friend, you're wise to be wary of these types of people, they have no respect for life. Something stinks there, hope someone can get to the bottom of it for the benefit of all animals involved....good luck, will keep my fingers crossed.

I don't know Susie, I am so in favor of the death penalty. There's a graphic novel called "Rover, Red Charlie". it's the human apocalypse and the dogs are on their own. One character is Hermann, a former fighting dog who now owns a human. He calls him **** Boy and treats him as he was treated. That might be fair karma there.

I'm so sorry to hear about this very disturbing situation. Can other neighbors be of assistance also? I know there is power in numbers when it comes to these type of complaints. The more together and the more calls and complaints, the more it will be taken seriously.

That's what I'm thinking. If they talk to neighbors. My girl's friend today...we pointed to the house and he lives a block away. He said " Oh yeah they have different dogs all the time". There has to be someone to get a warrant, drugs, fighting equipment, records, something or anything to tie them to they are just using these poor pups down the line.

How many times such a young men has stopped me when I walk Callie. Is he for sale? No, my dear boy is missing the reproductive ability that makes him valuable to you sick ***Ks. Get out of my face.

Is there a pit bull rescue group around thee that you could call? We have several here.

Fur, here, at least, the Pit rescues know how to cut through the crap and get something done about abused dogs. They've been instrumental in breaking up many fighting dog rings. Try giving them a call. If they can't help, they may know someone who can.

Amazing, look at what this poor dog went through, but people took the time to help her. Head swollen and chain was embedded in her neck. More here.

Roxanne is a beautiful pit bull, but someone didn’t see her beauty. She was abandoned but not only was she left behind, she was left in horrible conditions. She was found wandering the streets with a 6-pound chain around her neck.

This poor baby is from Hello Bully, a rescue group I contribute to in Pittsburgh

But really...what might they have done to him? My boy is the perfect lap dog...but young African American males with skateboards and he goes crazy. Maybe he remembers getting his tail cut off? You never know...

Poor thing. I have no sympathy for those who abuse any animals.

Nor do I. I think they deserve the worst possible punishment. I'm still mad that Michael Vick got to go back to football after all the pain and suffering he caused to dogs. He should be under the jail. Cruelty and brutality to animals makes me literally sick to my stomach. I am glad my city is seriously cracking down on dog fighting rings -- the lowest of the low.

So fureverywhere, is that dog fighting ring down the street still operating or did the police come and break it up and save the dogs? So awful that this happens to these animals. The chains, the pain, the fear.....how can people do those kinds of things to them?

In many cities and states the ASPCA will do animal cruelty investigations and call in the police if need be. Alot of people don't like them but they help alot. I've called them on more than one occasion where I lived or worked and they'll follow up.

I must not have posted about the follow up call from a humane society officer. I gave her all the information I could. She said the local police could find out about the house with a property map. Even with no house number they can find out who owns and pays taxes on it, if anyone. If it's not owned by anyone they don't need a warrant to go in.

About a month ago there were a bunch of police cars over there and a very unhappy looking woman sitting on the front steps. Not that it's something unusual in this neighborhood but they were at that house. Since then I've seen some of the same young men on the street but no dogs. I hope they didn't just move them somewhere else.

Here's a link to a recent bust, so sick that dog fighting is still so widespread

Drowning the neighbors, whilst not illegal in my neighbor, is frowned upon.
