Habemus Papum We have a Pope

I'm getting excited. It's too bad the sun is behind the building right now. They'd better get going or it will be almost too dark to see well. It's after 7pm in Rome.

An American! From Chicago! I'm surprised.
"Cardinal Robert Prevost, an American missionary who spent his career ministering in Peru and leads the Vatican’s powerful office of bishops, was elected the first American pope in the 2,000-year history of the Catholic Church. Prevost, 69, took the name Leo XIV"

OMG....the Pope is younger than me.
he's the same age as me... he'll be turning 70 in Septemeber.

It's quite amusing, because today's papers lead with his brother in the US... acting surprised in an amused way at the new Pope.. by saying ''OMG it's Rob''...

Brings it all down to realitty more when we think of him as just Rob...
