Had a heck of a time with my eyes.

Saw the eye doctor yesterday and he said that I had a problem with allergies in my eyes.
He put some drops in to help get started to get rid of the symptoms.
He told me that there is a new eye drop that can be bought without a prescription now that is stronger than what I had been using.
It is called Zaditor and is actually a little cheaper than what I had been using.
I bought one bottle of the new eye drops on the way home and am going to go back and buy a few more.
I use one type for controlling allergies and another for a condition called map dot dystrophy.
Just wanted people to know that if your eyes start itching and burning there are drops that can help stop those symptoms.
Pataday is a good one but not quite as strong as the new ones.

I had itchy eyes terribly when I was going to college and reading all the time. Maybe that's one reason why I don't read books anymore. Good you found something cheaper that works well! I had a prescription for mine long time ago and don't recall the name of it.

Once awhile I have itchy in the corner of eye, not both eyes, just one eye.
For this, itchiness(jut mild, but still discomfort), I applied 'ice-cube' wrapped with one napkin for few seconds which I repeat it few times until discomfort dissipates.
So far, this, 'home-remedy' stops itchiness the next morning.

Your information is very useful to read, so I printed it out 'just in case' further, more serious itchiness occurs.

Thanks for the info. I've been having irritation trouble in my eyes for years and have never found relief with OTC products, I will give Zaditor a try.
Really hope they work well for you!
I have had a lot of problems with the eyes since the map dot dystrophy started about two years ago.
The Pataday had been helping with the itching and burning before but it got out of hand this time.
I waited until mine got really bad and then had a hard time getting in to see an eye doctor right away.
But got lucky that someone must have cancelled and they got me in the second time I called in two days.

The corners of my eyes were what were itching.
The inside corner of my left eye and both inside and outside of the right one.
When I would rub the outside corner it felt like there was an eyelash or something under the eye lid.
If it gets bad see an eye doctor before it gets to that stage.

For those of you who don’t use a lot of eye drops watch for the expiration date.
It should be on every bottle.
If they are too long past the expiration date then they probably won’t be full strength any more,
I just bought a two bottle pack at WM and they were past the expiration date.
I don’t know if they will take them back or not because I broke the safety seal before I looked at the date.
But I will go in and tell them about it.
These new ones I just got have. 5/25 date on them.
Brand new drops should have at least a 2027 date on them.
