Have you had any near misses lately?
I had one just now.
I am waiting at an intersection, red light.
Light changes to green, car in front of me goes, I go.
As I am turning, a car comes through the intersection, against the red light and I miss him by about 1 foot.
He obviously was not paying attention and drove through the intersection as if he had a green light.
I only gave him two toots and we continued on our way.
Concentration is needed at all times whilst driving.

Yep yesterday...it wasn't a near miss..the stupid cow hit my new car at the drivers front end panel....

She'd crossed over chevrons into my lane at speed....

Having had someone crash into me and write my car off in July..I have been super vilgilant while driving.. but I couldn't have avoided this woman yesterday...

Wow, you are having a bad run of it.
So frustrating when we do everything right and still come off second best. :(

this is the worst of it...since the first accident in july where my car was written off, and I'm driving the new car..I've been super vigilent.. really eyes in the back of my head where at all possible.. driving slower than I would normally.. altho' not slow.. but more carefully than I ever have before.. yet I still got hit.. she came around that roundabout far too fast and straight into my lane and into the side of my car at the front .. which was the wrong lane for her.. so I couldn't avoid her... so what do I do? ... this is just made it all terrible for me now.. I was just beginning to get my confidence back a little...

I've driven for 40 years no accidents..driven here and on the continent many times on the opposite side of the road, even drove for a living at one point in my life... .. yet in a short 4 months 2 people not obeying the rules of the road, have destroyed my confidence, and made physical injuries to me ...and my cars

It sure is a set-back for you.
All you can do is as you have been doing. As you say, 40 years without an accident ad two in quick succession.
I think that you must not allow these setbacks stop you from driving.
Independence is something we all cherish.
