Halloween

Halloween’s a coming, tis’ time to trick or treat,

We’ll go door to door and beg for something sweet,

Don’t want no apple, oranges or any such fruit,

something covered in chocolate, now that’s our kind of loot…

Perhaps I’ll carry a sword of wood and a pirate I will be,

Maybe a friendly ghost, that no one can see…

Dress as cowboy or Indian as in days of long ago,

No, I must be PC, when dressed from head to toe…

Still this year is a little different you could say the least,

As everyone is really scared of that unknown beast…

I’ve got it, when I dress up, in my eeriness I will basque,

As I go door to door without wearing a mask….

Here’s a Halloween song I learned in elementary school, and still remember:

”Halloween’s coming, Halloween’s coming.
Skeletons will be after you!
Witches, cats, and big black bats,
Ghosts and goblins too, BOO!

Simple but effective, right? And get this...my music teacher’s name was Mrs. Wolfe! 🎃

Dread and Fear
I looked out my window, afraid as I could be…
There were creepy crawlers, the walking dead coming after me….
They were coming up the driveway, all sorts of mayhem…
I cowered in the corner, frightened so of them….
Soon they’d be upon me, clawing at the gate…
No place to run and hide, I would quickly meet my fate…
They were getting closer by the second, right outside the door…
The end was very near, of that you could be sure…
Slowly I opened the entrance, shaking in my feet…
Was meet with screams of terror….”Hey it’s time for trick or treat?”
