Hand sanitizers containing Methanol, warning

In its warning, the FDA listed the following nine products:
The FDA have issued a warning about HS containing Methanol which are currently being sold in the USA .

Methanol is a type of alcohol that can be poisonous if it is absorbed through the skin or ingested.

The FDA says that exposure to methanol-based hand sanitizer can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or even death.

Please check that you don't have any of those listed and if you do dispose of them immediately

  • Esk Biochem Hand Sanitizer (NDC: 74589-007-01)
  • CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 75% Alcohol (NDC: 74589-008-04)
  • Lavar 70 Gel Hand Sanitizer (NDC: 74589-006-01)
  • The Good Gel Antibacterial Gel Hand Sanitizer (NDC: 74589-010-10)
  • CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 80% Alcohol (NDC: 74589-005-03)
  • CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 75% Alcohol (NDC: 74589-009-01)
  • CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 80% Alcohol (NDC: 74589-003-01)
  • Saniderm Advanced Hand Sanitizer (NDC: 74589-001-01)
 

There was a warning about this on the morning news. It seems that all this stuff is being manufactured in Mexico. It is wise to check the labels, and country of origin when buying any of this "sanitizer". I imagine that there are any number of "questionable" products being manufactured, all over the world, in response to this virus.
