Hanky Panky for a Super Bowl Appetizer?!

Am I the only person who's never heard of Hanky Panky as a food?! I just saw a video of appetizers for tailgating, and this was there. Looked it up, and sure enough, it's a thing. Comical to me... anyone ever have these?

Party rye is a flashback to the 60s and 70s when my mother and grandmother were ‘putting on airs’ for holidays, baby showers, etc…

I had to do a search on the local Wegman’s and sure enough they still carry it!

Sounds good but I would probably swap out the Velveeta for something a bit different.

I used to buy the cocktail breads way back when, too... probably the late 70s to late 80s. Can't for the life of me figure out what I would have done with them! Maybe tuna or chicken salad. Mustn't have been very exciting or memorable.

ETA: it IS regional. "While popular throughout the Midwest, many food historians trace the specific origin of the appetizer to the West Side of Cincinnati, Ohio."

Polish mistake is what we called them….Grandma always made them for Christmas gatherings.
