Hello from a brand new member. I am very recently retired and just beginning to get used to the fact that Saturday isn't any different than Tuesday. I live in Pennsylvania and have lots of interests to pursue now that I have time. I walk, bike, and garden. I'm interested in birds, especially hummingbirds. Enjoy travel, reading, and the arts. And although I'm very disillusioned by US politics, I admit to still being interested.
 

Welcome Mary. There is a difference between tue. and sat. though...you no longer have to go to work. Enjoy our forum.

Welcome, Mary! Happy retirement! I was watching a hummingbird this morning and thinking they'll be leaving soon. We're on the coast of Maine, and they leave around September 10 - 13. When do yours leave?
 
Yes, my hummers will begin their southern migration and be gone by the second week of September. However, a couple of years ago, I had a surprise---a western hummingbird, a rufous, who arrived in my yard in October and stayed through early January! So, I'll keep my feeders out for awhile just in case.
