I like soft. So soft it has to be consumed through a straw. If there's a flavor that isn't available in soft, I buy hard and scoop it into a bowl and let it sit out until it's the desired consistency.
 
I'm probably the only person on the planet that takes the hard ice cream out of the freezer, puts it in a bowl, and then puts it in the microwave till it's the consistency I love. About 10 seconds. Cannot stand hard ice cream. It has no taste.
