I've done my share. When the kids were small I decided I'd make them nice cold drinks to have when they came home from school. They loved jello so I filled old soda bottles with the stuff. Obviously it wouldn't budge out of the bottles. Didn't give that one much thought. My Grandma wrote a note to my uncle and taped it on the front door saying the key was under the milk box. When I was a teen my Dad had a beautiful rose garden. Toward the end of the season they predicted frost. My Mom and I went out and picked a beautiful bouquet of roses which we put in our chest freezer. The plan was to have the roses on the table for out Thanksgiving center piece. I don't know why either one of us thought it could survive the deep freeze but couldn't tolerate the predicted frost. Any dumb stories you would like to share?
