Because I work for the store I'm welcome to free dog training. One of the options is getting Canine Good Citizen certification. That means a dog can go on to being a therapy dog and/or reading dog. I think Callie would be ideal. He's quiet and easygoing.

He also would stand on his head to please me. Learning simple commands should be easy with him. It also would give him a chance to socialize with other dogs and people which he really enjoys. What do they have to learn for CGC?

Interesting. We have two rescue dogs. One was left at the shelter by a family member. He is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix with no social skills with anyone outside the family. Our other little baby is a Carin mix that was rescued off the streets at about six months old. She is very cautious around strangers. They have adapted well here with us but are not open to strangers or other dogs. We have discussed some sort of dog training for them so we could even take them to the dog park for walks.

Wheat I will read those tomorrow. Really Callie is the most easygoing pooch you'll find. A serious face but women and children and the stump wags the dog...such a happy man.
