Reishi Mushrooms are a ancient Oriental supplement that has been used for thousands of years with amazing results. Do a search and read up on it.

I've never tried them, but I have heard for a long time that various mushrooms, including Reishi have good health benefits. Click on CC at the bottom of the video for closed captioning. Reishi has a long history of use going back at least 2000 years in China. It is probably the most researched and popular medicinal mushroom in the West. It is a tree mushroom that grows on hardwood trees in warm and temperate climates. It’s appearance is easily spotted because of its usually intense red cap.

It has the usual adaptogenic immune characteristics of most mushrooms, but also directly affects the endocrine system’s glandular hormonal production, stability, and balance. Reishi alcohol extracts contain compounds that reverse depression, reduce stress, and promote relaxing deep sleep.

Reishi’s antioxidant capacity helps minimize the threat of cancer, and it also helps create more “killer cells” when needed to help fight cancer cells and even shrink tumors

There are several different kinds of mushrooms that are being used for medicinal purposes, as opposed to just being used in cooking. A big thing right now seems to be adding various kinds of the medicinal mushrooms to coffee. Here is a website with a quick rundown of the different kinds of mushrooms being used in coffee and what they help with the most.

Since I am now cutting regular coffee out of my eating habits, I have started drinking some of the herbal coffees, which are non-acidic, and do not contain caffeine. I can have a hot cup to drink any time I want it, and no worry of it keeping me awake. In Fact, I think that I am sleeping better !
My favorite so far has been the Teeccino herbal coffees, which can be brewed with any method you use for regular coffee, or they also come in teabags, for people who prefer tea.

They have now come out with the mushroom herbal coffee, and I ordered a sample pack to try it and see how well I like it, and if I notice any difference in how I feel after drinking it.
I have my new electric kettle and it is so perfect for making the pour over coffee with the Teeccino, and it only takes about a spoonful to make a nice mug of herbal coffee.

Not Reishi, but I drink Chaga Mushroom tea regularity to boost immune system. Must complain Amazon raised their price on the Chaga tea bags I was buying so I went to Etsy.com and bought a pound of Chaga mushroom powder.

I don't eat or use Reishis but cook with Shitakes a lot. Only problem is I can't stuff them because the caps are too shallow.
