Hatfield House near London

Yea, missed your day tour piccys of the 'stately homes'... we don't have any on that scale and age here.

There's certainly nothing minimalist about that one. You could spend months in there looking at everything.:playful::D

Thanks, any more?

In one sense TG I can understand what you are saying, whilst I am very proud of our heritage with the various stately homes and other buildings we have here, they wouldn't be my choice of a day out, I only go if the company I am with at the time invites me, as I find most of them boring but that's just me, there are plenty in this country that really enjoy that type of day out, to traipse round stately homes.:)

The grounds and gardens of stately homes and buildings are a different matter, they are usually very much to be admired with the layout and various trees and plants.:)

Mmmm very nice.................................now will the real Mr Pappy please stand up.:devilish:

On that note I must go to bed now, night night.:)

LOL, Pappy!!! :D

That place looks downright gaudy and you could nearly go blind going down that hallway. :confusion: Don't get that tub, either, but I bet the grounds are gorgeous.

They didn't do 'relaxed and cozy' back then did they? It was all for show and that's all I find of interest about them. The skill of the artisans that we simply don't see or could afford these days. We don't have anything approaching that scale here so it's something different for us.
I would rather live in a bark hut than one of them but do like to look.

I just wish you hadn't mentioned that bath......
