Have we been hoodwinked by the soap companies?

It seems that since the soap operas we have been convinced that we must scrub our houses and ourselves almost compulsively to prevent diseases that could kill us and our families. We have become too sterile and neurotic about our bodies, baths, and bedrooms, in my never humble opinion which you should surely agree with...

Yes I agree with you Ralphy , sure I like a nice clean home however we are bombarded, with adds on TV and stands in supermarkets advertising disinfected cleaning cloths/ sprays for bench tops, toilets etc , Hand cleaners in shopping centres before or after you do your shopping ...wonder if anyone ever realises the poisons their bodies are absorbing using so many chemicals.. I personally use a natural cleaner made from eucalyptus for floors tiles, In between hubby steam cleaning the floors (no chemicals) I use a cleaner in the bathrooms made from Orange skins it one of the best I have found for cleaning grout.

I only use furniture polish/cleaner a couple of times of year, not every dusting in which I use a damp cloth. Certain situations one might want to use a foam vs spray cleaner in some place like the bathroom. Most of the disinfectants are bleach in those cleaners anyway. You can put a tea spoon of bleach and liquid soap to clean a sink. Lots of tricks or alternatives to avoid all the over lap Madison Ave has thrust on the public.
