Have you ever been shot?

When I was 14, me and a mate was up in the hills exploring. I had gotten about 200 meters ahead when suddenly something hit me in the side of my head and forcefully knocked me to the ground.
My mate had shot me with his air rifle which fired lead slugs. I laid on the ground with blood pouring out pretending to be dead.
He came running up, crying loudly and screaming, "I did not mean to hit you, I fired above you"
I laid prostrate for about 2 minutes before showing him I was alive. Poor kid was in a right state thinking he had killed me.
We told no one. The lead slug was hidden in my hair so could not be seen. It stayed there for 6 weeks until the swelling went down and I removed it with tweezers

No, but I have been shot at and missed, once by stupid neighbors target shooting, and once over an animal abuse case I was working.

No, but my brother shot himself with a Mossberg Semi-automatic right in the foot. Fortunately, the bullet some how entered between the bones and he made it home. This happened in the 60s when we all had guns and we all loved shooting things and the police nor politicians never even heard of us nor bothered us.

Today, you head for the gravel pit, fire a shot or two and you can bet some "good citizen" will phone the police ASAP. Everyone seems to be scared like those little rabbits we used to shoot.

12 yr old probably, another kid, same age, known to me, was
trying destroy the traps I had set in the creek for muskrat mink...he had a stick about 3ft long and was attempting to set the trap off so nothing could be caught...well I was an excellent shot, so i had my target rifle with me , aimed at the stick, and shot it out of his hand !!!! It did not dawn on me that I could miss and hit him.....I was just so confident in my ability that it
never crossed my mind!!!!! He didn't mess with my traps again !!!!

In college I was shot by some nasty neighborhood boys using a Bebe gun, It stung like crazy but I was okay. They got me in the hip. The little #$%#@!s.

Wow, that outcome could have gone really wrong. Good shot, but lucky as as well.

I was shot in Vietnam and also fell on fellow Marine’s bayonet when I went down. Thanks to the good Lord, we both survived.
