Peaches and dumplings? Way easier than peach cobbler. My mother used to make it and I loved it. Use can of peaches, sugar or sweetener to taste and canned biscuits, each biscuit pulled or cut into 3rds or quarters. Add cinnamon and boil until dough is done. I hadn't made it in years until a couple of weeks ago. I also made Bisquick's Impossible Broccoli Pie for the first time in several years. Bisquick doesn't list baking powder in it's recipe but it's needed. My son and whoever else I ever served it to really liked it. Basically it's a quiche. I use this recipe minus the chicken.

Have you ever had either of these two things?

I have used Bisquick in several things. I have made apple and peach cobbler. As well as a few "back of the box" recipes. I will have to try the ones you mention. Now you have me craving something. will have to add it to my next shopping list.
Let me know how they come out and how you like them Marie. I had tried to make the dumplings using Bisquick biscuit dough once but it didn't come out right so I've stuck with the canned ones. I bet your cobblers were good! 😜

@OneEyedDiva I made chicken and dumplings once. I found I liked the dumplings better reheated than fresh. Not sure why,

Edit to add...thinking about this after I posted. I did not make the dumplings from Bisquick, but from Pillsbury Grands muffin tube. Split off the muffins for top of recipe.

The Impossible Broccoli Pie with cheddar cheese made me salivate the instant I seen it, OneEyed!

I've never made either before, though I have made quiche.

I tried canned biscuits and canned peaches once to make peach cobbler but the biscuits came out all soggy and too disgusting too eat. I baked it in the oven but you said you boiled it. In a pot on the stove? Do I use a lid? I'd like to try this dumpling thing with the canned peaches.

I love peach cobbler but it's almost impossible to find really good peaches in stores here. You have to go to the farmer's markets, and the season must be super-short because even then finding peaches is hit and miss.

My mom used to make the Bisquick broccoli pie and she called it broccoli cheese pie. I think she made it without meat as well. However I'm not sure I ever tasted it. I hated broccoli when I was a kid and I'm pretty sure she stopped making it before I liked broccoli.

Yes I boiled the biscuit peaces right in with the canned peaches. I don't put the lid on it until after it's fully cooked. If you do try it, please let me know how you like it. Remember to sweeten to taste and cinnamon is a must.

Thanks Miss Diva! I'll try it next payday after I go shopping and I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have to do quick and easy cooking and baking when my back gives me a bad time.
Here's another one I love to make and eat:

Dump a box of white cake mix in a bowl and stir in a cube of butter with a fork and then your hands and mix it until it's a crumble.
Pour 1 regular sized can of cherry pie filling into an 8" square pan and sprinkle the crumble over it until you cover the cherries with a thick, even layer.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

My grandkids love it!

There are canned peaches and then there are canned free-stone peaches. Not easy to find but make much better cobbler or dessert stew. Del Monte makes one in syrup so no additional sugar needed.

@Murrmurr Here’s my version of your dessert. It’s so easy (unless you discover you don’t have that cake mix that you thought you had.)

Cherry Bake

Grease a 10 x 10ā€ pan
Spread a can of cherry pie (with added 1 tsp almond extract added) filling on the bottom
Spread a white cake mix (not the small single size) on top
Sprinkle 2/3 Cup of sliced almonds on top
Drizzle with 2/3 Cup of butter on top
Bake at 350 for ~ 45 minutes.

Put in the oven just before serving your guests their dinner.
Keep ingredients on hand in case unexpected guests arrive.

I've added chopped walnuts to the pie filling. I like it that way, but my grandkids don't care for walnuts (unbelievable, I know).

Yum, I love fresh walnuts. Good idea.

Isn’t it a great, simple recipe? People think you’ve created a masterpiece. They then eat seconds and we don’t have leftovers. šŸ˜‰
