Have you ever gotten a massage?

I like to watch ASMR massage videos on YouTube. Very relaxing.

They used to give a mini massage when I went to accupuncture. It was really nice. I swear, the foot massage was the best.

I'd love to get a massage. But I have big body image issues and I'd have to trust the place and person. My co-worker gives the best quick back rubs. She has the perfect touch. I've told her over and over she needs to get a license. They'd be lining up out the door.

I have had many ......
there are several types and many are therapeutic in helping with past injury or general stiffness....
I do not feel it is portrayed correctly in TV or movies.

My husband and son say I am an expert at massage. I have found that they had no talent. I even considered it as a career choice.

I have been a couple of times to a professional. Trying to find relieve for my migraines. I only had them do the shoulders, upper back, arms and head. I was not interested in a whole body massage. It was a pleasant experience but did not make a difference in the headache area. I felt better for about a half hour and then it was back. Not worth spending that kind of money if it did not help.

Yes I got a couple of massages from a Chiropractor.. for my back issues... and I used to get as part of my physiotherapy on my knees.. a 10 minute massage on my legs by my Physiotherapist every week....but as a form of enjoyment, No I've never had a massage.. I wouldn't like it. Due to having lower lumber issues it's very painful for me to lie down on my front...

My daughter otoh... loves to have a massage.. she goes regularly for Spa treatments

Oh, yeah. I really enjoy a good foot massage. An all body massage, I request a female only. If one isn't available, I will pass. It has nothing to do with sex or is a gay thing. I have had a male and a female and I thought females do much better. Females take there time and don't try to impress with the amount of pressure they can apply. They also allow you to redress and then ask you if you are satisfied, or at least the place I use they do. The last male I had, I thought he was trying to push me through the table like I was a punch card.

Yes, I’ve had a few and don’t enjoy them. The only reason for trying was because so many people said they liked them. My hairdresser will do a scalp massage when she washes your hair; I don’t get it washed. No thanks.

Well I got a few in the Far East during my Navy years and they had nothing to do with prostitution but rather were professional and thorough. I still vividly recall one Japanese lady in Tokyo who worked me over like a sumo wrestler. I doubt my current old carcass would come through such treatment intact.

I guess I come from a generation that thinks massages are kind of a la-dee-dah L.A. thing.
Lol.

About massage:

Archaeological evidence of massage has been found in many ancient civilizations including China, India, Japan, Korea, Egypt, Rome, Greece, and Mesopotamia.

BC 2330: The Tomb of Akmanthor(also known as "The Tomb of the Physician") in Saqqara, Egypt, depicts two men having work done on their feet and hands, possibly massage.
Akmanthor

BC 2000: The word muššu'u ("massage") is written for the first time, and its use is described, in some Sumerian and Akkadian texts found at the beginning of the 21st century in ancient Mesopotamia.

BC 722–481: Huangdi Neijing is composed during the Chinese Spring and Autumn period. The Nei-jing is a compilation of medical knowledge known up to that date, and is the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine. Massage is referred to in 30 different chapters of the Nei Jing. It specifies the use of different massage techniques and how they should be used in the treatment of specific ailments, and injuries. Also known as "The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon," the text refers to previous medical knowledge from the time of the Yellow Emperor (approx 2700 BC), misleading some into believing the text itself was written during the time of the Yellow Emperor (which would predate written history).

You bet. I’ve had quite a few and they’ve always felt fabulous. I’ve generally had them when I’ve had a sore or injured back. All of mine with given by a registered massage therapist with 3 years training and been covered by my insurance.

In my life time I have enjoyed many massages, therapeutic and tailored each
time to my request, interest, and needs. Have had both male and female massage
therapists. Only one complaint out of the entire long list....

Massage works for me and I absolutely love it..

I've had a few professional massages. I had a friend who was going to school to become a massage therapist and she had to accrue a certain number of hours for her licensing. I received a gift certificate once, for my birthday. I would go every week if I could. It was heavenly.
