Have you ever gotten the "you're an old fogie" look?

I was at Lowe's yesterday. I was buying some light bulbs. I went to use the quick computerized check out. The clerk, who was overlooking the area and holding up the wall, saw me, and rolled his eyes_ the old fogie look. Yeah, I'm 71. The machine kept announcing," Assistance is needed" over and over. I called the guy over. He said, "There are two regular registers open". Well, his machines were all screwed up, everybody was having problems. So tomorrow, I going back to Lowes and I hope he's there. I may be an old fogie, but I going to make him my employee of the month.

Usually when I look in the mirror, LOL!!!

I got it in the bank a couple of weeks ago when I tried to use my credit card to withdraw money at the drive up ATM instead of my debit card. I parked my car got out and went storming into the bank. The teller gave me the well deserved look quickly explained my mistake and completed my transaction.

Sometimes I play the old fogie part on purpose. I don't like the automatic checkout, especially if there is a clerk standing there doing nothing. So, even though I know perfectly well how it works, I may look confused and ask for help. Generally, they are more than happy to oblige. Maybe it gives them a sense of worth.

Yeah, sometimes playing the "old fogie card" gets a little more service out of the millennial type service employees.

However, I'm not quite ready to accept help pushing the grocery cart out to the parking lot, just yet. :p

I got that look from a neighbor when I was talking about taking up the guitar. No one is too old to do anything I have since learned.

All I can say is if I had known the benefits of being older and carrying my cane would have been, I wouldn't have been so vain about taking it with me more. Now I bring it along even on days I least need it, makes crossing streets, getting seats and a wholes host of things easier. :D And still get flirted with no less.
