Have you ever had the wrong Idea about a place?

For most of my life, I have imagined that Switzerland
was mountainous, in the 1970s, I drove refrigerated
trucks, in and out of Switzerland, when I was driving
through France on the way to Italy, the road took me
past, Geneva and Lake Geneva, but the land was flat
there.

Today, I went to the Jigsaw site that I visit and found
that the puzzle of the day, was called, "Tourist Ship
on the Aare River, Switzerland", I never ever thought
that there were any rivers in Switzerland, but logic
should have told me that there had to be!

Have you had any wrong ideas like I did, probably
not, I feel that you are all intelligent people here.

Mike.

I had a terrible view of Spain. I'd heard it was grubby full of of the lowest class of Tourists , etc.... so much so I avoided going there for a holiday like the plague...

Instead I went everywhere else in Europe for many years...until one year a friend offered their property to us for a week.. and we thought why not.... and from that day our minds changed completely... and we fell in love with that place..and bought a property there..

Sure there are parts of Spain like other countries that aren't the best but most of it is beautiful....

yes what was the name of the Canton... what were you doing there ..were you working ?
Yes, I was working. It was very hard to get work permits in Switzerland. Only available to Yugoslavian men who couldn't bring their women for jobs Swiss wouldn't do. These men roamed the streets at night, usually in groups, and were very horny. Had to beat one up. On of the greatest stories of my life. Foreign women, like me, were only allowed to do hospital cleaning or housekeeping, or nanny. I was nanny to two kids, neither of which I liked, and I like kids. The Canton was Zurich. I wasn't far from main train depot.
