Have you ever visited a foreign country?

The only foreign country I visited very briefly is China. However, I spent most of my time on the highway, at the hotel, and then at the Beijing Airport before finally heading back home. Felt as if I had never left the USA except for the people and language. Everything else looked technologically identical.

I went to Cuba on my Honeymoon...l was never so thankful to touch down my toe on Canadian soil after that trip. Never again.

Libya......2 yrs. 4 months.

Several. I did a tally a while back and forget the number. In the 20s? I’d have to pull out a map to do a proper list.
If you cruise in the Caribbean, you stop at many countries. Bermuda
New Zealand and Australia
US
France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, etc

Definitely haven’t seen as many as I’d like to.

I have been to 59 countries, all 7 continents, and all 24 time zones.

Not sure I've missed anything, seen snow and ice before.

And every single foreign visit was during my 20yr military career.

I've visited the USA twice - both times to LA.

Been to Switzewrland twice - once to Bern and once to Geneva.

France twice - Paris on Honeymoon and Euro Disney with the kids.

When I Honeymooned in Cuba I paid everything in American cash.

Seven bloody times in ten days the Cuban women short changed me during my money transactions. I really had to be on my toes, so it took away from the whole vacation. I'll never go back to that country.

Mexico (briefly - I visited a friend in Arizona and they took me somewhere that we could just walk across the border and shop in some tourist type street stalls), Canada (via walking across the Rainbow Bridge (can't remember how many times) at Niagara Falls in 2022 as part of my big retirement travel adventure), Wales, England, Israel, France. And later this month I've got plans to go to Greece and Turkey. Haven't decided about next year, maybe more of Europe, tho Iceland sounds okay, maybe both!

I've lived in the Netherlands for several months and for 2-1/2 yrs in Scotland. Have visited a lot more and am wishing I can spend more time in Europe once the airlines and world settles down a bit more. There is so much to see and hear.

aside from those I have visited on many occasions most of the Greek Islands.. Corfu, Kos, Crete.. etc...


Visited Brussels , and Ostend Belgium, several times to Paris France ,

Visited Verona, Milan, Brecia, in Northern Italy... and worked in Castel Mela , Lombardy

Visited Switzerland, and the Alps... Drove over the Mont Blanc the highest mountain in the Alps..

I've been to Istanbul.. and to Marmaris Turkey

Visited on several occasions, and swam in the oceans at Aya Napa, Paralimini, Paphos, Nicosia, Limassol.. ...all Cyprus,..

In Germany I worked in small village just outside Frankfurt for a short period... visited Frankfurt... and Rotterdam & Hooffdorp Holland..

In Spain I lived in the Valencia Province for 10 years , still have a home there, but have visited many towns, cities and villages in Southern Spain... too many to list...

Lost count how many times I went to Mexico, had a dentist there as well.
This will sound unusual of course but Canada, and then later the US.

23 countries on 5 continents. I lived in Turkey for 2 1/2 years.

I still hope to get to Australia one of these days but I'm pretty sure I'll never make it to Antarctica.....
