Have You Ever Written Reviews On Amazon?

I've written a few...usually when I'm very happy with a product or quite dissatisfied. Some of my reviews have been deemed helpful. I've ordered several items over the past few months and am planning to write reviews for some of those things. Often I find reviews to be helpful although one person will say a product is excellent and another will say it's terrible. I usually go with the opinions of the majority. And sometimes people are reviewing something other than the product itself, like the shipping or even a completely different item. Have you written any product reviews?

I will be writing a review of my most recent purchase. Not happy. I ordered 5 boxes of Lindor chocolates to give as thank you gifts. Three of the boxes were damaged so not something you want to give as a gift. The packing box had no damage so obviously the damage was done at the warehouse and shipped anyway.

I recently wrote a review on a product and they offered a refund. I bought what they said were speed chargers for my Android phone and tablets. Turns out they were not speed chargers. My review pointed out that the ad lied and I challenged Amazon to review their crap before they sell it. I got an email offering a refund which I received layer that day.

One thing upfront that I'll say about Answers I've received to my Questions on Amazon. If the person doesn't know what's in the query, then they shouldn't reply.

Explaining: I suffer from Nickel allergy. Therefore, I was asking if it was pure silver or a blend possibly containing Nickel. The response was: The ring is very nice and highly polished...

So, as you can see still no true or worth it answer. Therefore, I haven't bought the ring yet and that's wee bit frustrating.

To answer current question, yes, I've written quite a lot, they've been deemed useful many times and appreciated. I've been with Amazon since 2007, so I occasionally go back to add a review as it'll be either more positive or negative as the items have received good use😸.

I really put a negative review as a result of having had a bad delivery experience and/or products which didn't last and became defective and had to be returned.

So far in over 15 years, one item wasn't according to product description and was returned, but reimbursement never came back. Darn it!

Second item had a delivery company which mobile provider put into SPAM Alert, as they kept going to wrong street, one down from ours, and we're demanding nearly triple the delivery cost originally. In the end it got cancelled and was reimbursed.

The third one took nearly a month to be delivered when it was guaranteed 3 days, and within a month the product failed. The help from Amazon was amazing and the reimbursement so quick that I was able to replace the product locally.

The over 25+ reviews have been positive and if it helps someone understand how to use it to prevent damages as one set of glass cups, then I'm glad it was useful 😸.

I've written reviews on certain things I've bought, but it makes me shake my head a bit when I get an e-mail from Amazon asking me to do a "product review on my latest purchase"...a gift card. I mean, what can I say? The plastic was just the right hardness, the size of the card was exactly as stated...5 stars!! :ROFLMAO:

A couple of years ago, I stopped writing reviews. I just got tired of it. I buy things I need, and I read the reviews but I pay less attention to the top reviews. I read the bottom reviews but don't pay much attention unless they mostly point out a consistent complaint. The top reviews are often written just after the purchase and before a buyer has a chance to truly test the product. Amazon is not my favorite place to buy things, but I think their reviews are helpful. I don't think they filter out bad reviews. If you like biased reviews, buy from Tractor Supply. I think they sell good stuff, but one minor critique, even in a glowing review will get censored out. A lot of places do that, but I don't think Amazon does that.

Yes, I've written reviews. I often wonder how truthful some reviews are. Many are written by people who have received the product for free and then give an "honest" review. I believe some reviews are written by competitors to dissuade people from buying a product and to try to steer them to another similar product. I don't like being hounded to give a review. I'll review what I want to review.

Reviews are subjective. Your criteria as to what's acceptable might differ from mine. For example, when searching for an alarm clock, I want to know how loud it is. Well, according to a gazillion reviews, some say it's very loud, while others say it's not loud enough. I can't possibly know how loud it is unless I hear the damn thing. ⏰👂

I write them sometimes, when very pleased with a product. I keep it brief.

If I am not satisfied with a product, I get in touch with the sellers and almost always they refund or replace. I have never put a bad review up so far, I would think long and hard about that.

In fact I find reviews quite fascinating. The way some people put such very long ones up or give one star because it arrived late or had some minor fault which they didn't give the seller chance to remedy. The most odd reviews are those which say they received the item, it looks ok but they haven't yet tried it!
Also book reviews saying they received, book looks in good condition vans they look forward to reading it! Lol!

Yep. A "safe" mandolin slicer which was JUNK. I then got two food choppers and they have been a blessing. A poncho, utility knives, watch and other items. Being "Informative" is prized very much.

Opinions are so-so but I'd rather someone said "It looks terrible, but damn, it does what they said it would" plus HOW it solved your problems is also good to know.

As a side note; Remember Consumer Reports? It ran no advertisements or took money from manufacturers and actually did their own tests on products to evaluate everything from cars to air conditioners. I went to their site a couple of years ago. It's no longer like that. Not helpful at all. I googled "what happened to Consumer Reports" and was told that sales of their publication had gone downhill with the development of the internet, and people were now consulting amazon and any other sellers that offered reviews of products. CR is now mostly like a referral service to buy things. That's where the money is at now, and I'm guessing their money now comes from manufacturers. Who knows? Maybe it always did, but I did think they were mostly helpful at one time. Now I don't think their publication is worth much if anything.

Infrequently and like several above, for very good or very bad. Realized from this thread that I hardly ever write 3 star reviews which are what I usually read since they're more likely to include pros and cons.

I have written reviews for Trip Advisor on places that we have visited on vacation. My Wife was born in Nassau in the Bahamas so she knows it very well having lived there until she came to Canada at age 21 to attend the University of Toronto. She writes reviews of Bahamian resorts and places of interest for the Bahamian tourist board, for which she is paid. JImB.
