Gaer

1. Slept alone on a beach at night?
(I used to do that. Wake to nothing but seagulls and sand.
2. Drank from a mountain stream?
3. Waded in a mountain stream?
4. Used an outhouse?
5. Lie on your back in the cool grass on a hot day?
6. Gasped at the Northern Lights?
7. Sat atop an ice burg?
8. Danced in the rain?
9. Stood outside after a rain to smell the incredible scents of the Earth?
10. Ran through a sprinkler like a little kid?
11. Drove and drove and drove and drove until you couldn't drive anymore?
12. Talk to the stars and the moon on a Summer night?

All but number 7. :)

1. Slept alone on a beach at night? I used to do that. Wake to nothing but seagulls and sand. Yep, but there were a lot of bugs there too.
2. Drank from a mountain stream? Many times
3. Waded in a mountain stream? Many times
4. Used an outhouse? Many times
5. Lie on your back in the cool grass on a hot day?
Many times
6. Gasped at the Northern Lights? Yes, hard to forget.
7. Sat atop an ice burg? No
8. Danced in the rain? Yes, but not as an adult.
9. Stood outside after a rain to smell the incredible scents of the Earth? Yes, many times.
10. Ran through a sprinkler like a little kid? When I was a kid.
11. Drove and drove and drove and drove until you couldn't drive anymore? Too many times, not a great idea, for me anyway.
12. Talk to the stars and the moon on a Summer night? No, but I have enjoyed them many times.

I have seen icebergs from a cruise ship though.

1. Slept alone on a beach at night?
No. Just other weird places.
2. Drank from a mountain stream?
No. My father got ill from drinking from a stream, and almost died. (It probably wasn't a "mountain stream" though.) I have drunk from mountain springs.
3. Waded in a mountain stream?
Sure. I used to make a point of wading in every body of water I met.
4. Used an outhouse?
Yes, many times.
5. Lie on your back in the cool grass on a hot day?
Sure.
6. Gasped at the Northern Lights?
Yes. I asked the person driving the car to pull over so I could watch. Then a cop stopped to ask why we were pulled over. My friend explained, and the cop was understanding.
7. Sat atop an ice burg?
No. Have you?
8. Danced in the rain?
Yes. Naked.
9. Stood outside after a rain to smell the incredible scents of the Earth?
No, I'm oblivious to both petrichor and "the smell of salt air." I have smelled moldy earth after a wet winter though.
10. Ran through a sprinkler like a little kid?
Sure, isn't that what they're for?
11. Drove and drove and drove and drove until you couldn't drive anymore?
Yes. Usually I can drive day and night and not get tired. But once, on a cross-country trip, I had to pull over. I parked at a plumbing supply shop in a farming town. I put a pillow on the steering wheel, put the top of my head on the pillow, and slept like that for 5 hours. And I'm a person who CANNOT sleep in a chair.
12. Talk to the stars and the moon on a Summer night?
Of course!

So that's 8 out of 12. Nice questions!

I have never done 6, 7 or 11. Number one was the coolest night of stargazing ever.

Yes, I have done all of those. Granted, it wasn't a huge iceberg but while halibut fishing in Alaska we brought the boat alongside and several of us climbed out and explored. I had to sit down on the berg to get back into the boat so I think that qualifies.

Additionally some unkind companions might say what I call dancing in the rain looked more like I was fighting a yellow jacket but I claim it was dancing......so there!

All but #'s 3/7/11.

#3 .. don't know how to swim
#7 .. never been near an iceberg
#11 .. never drove further than Niagara Falls - Toronto

#1 Slept on a beach - just not alone
#6 Northern lights - When I lived in Canada neighbors asked if we saw them the night before, but we were asleep
#7 Have never seen an iceberg

I have done all of the others.................

When I was working, occasionally meeting up with fellow travellers, we would 'boast' about things we had claimed on expenses.
If we were not on per diem allowances, we could claim for reasonable entertainment expenses.
These included (not all by me)..
A boat trip on the Mississippi
A ringside seat at a Sumo contest in Tokyo
Visits to various zoos
A trip to Santa Claus village on the Arctic circle
Visit to the Oktoberfest in Germany
Gone Go Kart racing
Had a trip round "The Breakers" (Vanderbilt's summer home on Rhode Island)

We had some good times at our companies expenses. I've also done most of Gaer's list (not 7 or 11)
