Have you tried any of the new, Plant Based Meals?

My supermarket had "Chilli Non Carne" on special, normally $10, on special for $2.
Thought I would try it.
2 mouthfuls, discarded it🥴
Lentil based burger, very bland and unappealing

Yes I have tried them. My husband who is vegan eats them almost exclusively... they are disgusting, taste planets away from real food..IMO..

Gotta admit that most of the fake meats make me gag. 🤢 I *do* like the Dr. Praeger's California Veggie Burgers, though... and the Morningstar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers. Not sure if I can actually tolerate the taste better or if putting them on a bun with ketchup, mayo, onion, and tomato masks the taste. :sneaky:

I have not tried any of the commercial plant based meals or foods, except for the Auguson Farms black bean burger mixture. It comes in a large can and is dehydrated beans, rice, oats, and spices. Anyway, you mix it with a little water and let it soak up and then make it into a burger patty, and it is really good.
I often grate some carrots, onions, and maybe some zucchini into the mixture, and that adds even more flavor, and it makes a good plant-based burger.

this is what I mean... my o/h covers all those different plastic meats with Very hot sauces....I'm sure he can't taste anything tbh

Disguising the taste will go a long way to at least making them tolerable. :)

I havent tried vegetarian sausages or burgers or meat replacement things like that - but I eat plenty of vegetarian dishes - chilli con carne made with lentils (not with fake mince) would be OK.

I'm a second hand vegetarian. Cows eat grass, I eat cows.
Funny thing, they don't try to make meat taste like veggies.
