Yesterday the temps. hit the high 80's and the inside of the house, with the sun hitting the roof all day, reached 82º and mama informed me that it was time to crank up the a/c unit for the first time this season.

Have you had to use your air conditioner yet this year ?

I haven't bothered pulling my air conditioners out of the closet since I moved here 7 years ago!

I'm lucky that my apartment has good cross ventilation and is up high enough to catch a little breeze on even the hottest days.

Better get busy, IKE!!!

Of course we have here in Houston!. Cold front coming tonight so it will be off. I try to use the ceiling fans only but have had to turn it on some for a few hours yesterday.

We only use a small window air conditioner in the bedroom during summer, usually don't put it in until June, and mainly run it at night. Snowed an inch or so last night, so there's white on the ground, still putting on the heat here in Colorado. We have some trees in the front of our house that blocks the hot summer sun, it usually feels cool when we go inside from the summer heat. That's good, because I really hate the heat, spring or fall is so much better than summer IMO, winter's pretty nice too.

Girl, YES! :D (Plus the humidity is killer so on goes the a/c... practically year-round.) And another cold front; what the heck??

We don't need it often up here on the coast. Most of the times fans will do. The hot and cold weather are both tempered a bit when living near the shore, fortunately. A/C is a necessity when a really hot spell hits but I much prefer fresh, outside air, especially at night while sleeping. We go long periods, even in mid-summer, with out using the A/C. I consider anything over 90F to be a "near death" experience. :miserable: LOL

Not yet, but it will be soon. The ceiling fans are on virtually every day.

The snowbirds have been running around in shorts nearly all winter, I will get mine out in a couple of weeks.

I was very warm here last week, so I have my AC guy come and hook up and service my swamp cooler today. BUT, today I think it got up into the 40s and it is very windy and cold-ish. Our spring weather is weird as all get-out.

We had a cold front move in last nite and it's 36º now with a strong north wind.....there won't be any A/C today, I've got the furnace turned back on. :)

Last two weeks I have been turning A/C on in the early afternoon and turn off when I go to bed at night, but I have it at 78 degrees. It's been a pretty warm winter, wonder how HOT it will be this summer. Ugh! The most I have spent on electric in the 12 years I've lived here was $168 a month, and that was on the hottest month ever. Usually electric is $140 a month in the hot summer months. I paid extra to have good insulation and had garage situated on the west side when house being built, a good investment and decision IMO.

Normally we don't have to turn ours on until May, but turned it on last night and today..Humidity is off the charts. I can't stand it when things get sticky. Storms are brewing.

Many times in the last 2 weeks. It's that time of year here, where you may turn on the heat in the morning and the AC in the afternoon. I have a two story house and the upstairs gets much warmer than the downstairs. That's part of the reason.

Every day in my car to heat the interior up
in the Winter, before the engine takes over
the job.

No A/C so far this spring.

Several times this month I had to turn on the heat... 30 - 40 degrees... in Dallas !!

I try not to turn on the heat during the cold nights... so my house stays cool the next day when temps get up to the 70s-80s.
