That's a jpeg. Sometimes if I use the wrong setting on my phone, I think it's called motion, I have issues uploading a pic.
And sometimes the forum software is having a bad day and doesn't want to upload anything.
I know you can't upload png to the forum it has to be jpg.... altho' I do it by using imgbbThis occurs occasionally, whether I'm trying to upload .jpg or .png.
I've even put them in GIMP to scale the size down, but that doesn't help, either.
Would anyone know what the problem is?
View attachment 484596 It worked this time.. I guess it wasn't scaled small enough before..

Well, either the program you use works better, or you know what you're doing.. or, most likely, both.
GIMP isn't that easy to use tbh...... and this picture was easily uploaded full size by using Imgbb...Well, either the program you use works better, or you know what you're doing.. or, most likely, both.
I barely grasped how to use GIMP many years ago, still haven't figured out all of the details.
Oh, just in time... ANOTHER spam-bot just popped up..
PNG will not be accepted on this platform. This occurs occasionally, whether I'm trying to upload .jpg or .png.

I already said that... and I also said that if you load png into Imgbb the forum will accept it...PNG will not be accepted on this platform.
I think you might be right about size not being the problem. I kept getting the same message when trying to upload my avatar. I can be stubborn. Tried a third time and boom! There is was..png never loads for me. I change it to a .jpeg using Paint Shop Pro or the default image viewer that comes with linux mint, and then it will load. When something fails to load, the forum editor gives a message, "File is too big," but that is not the problem. I could reduce the image to the size of a postage stamp, and it still gives the same, and apparently the only, message it has. This confused me for a while, because size was never the problem.
Look at the large high resolution photos of many megabytes that Oy loads all the time. Size of the file is not the issue. Well that's what I think, anyway.
Why?I haven't had any problems with uploading images but I'm no longer able to upload gif's.
I've had that problem on occasion. I think it happens when there's something weird about the image format -- not the size. When that happens, just open it in GIMP and export it to new file. Just saving it won't work; you need to export it to a new file. This occurs occasionally, whether I'm trying to upload .jpg or .png.

We have allowed png files for some time.I know you can't upload png to the forum it has to be jpg.... altho' I do it by using imgbb
Yes, I know.. and it's the only one I'm familiar with at all.
My Linux mint comes with something simply called "Image Viewer." It's mostly nothing more than a viewer, and has no serious image alteration capacity, but it does allow you to "Save As" with a limited capability of changing to just a couple of other file types. Jpeg, being one of them. Gimp is not listed in the my accessory inventory. It took me years to learn much of my 30 year old Paint Shop Pro functions, and I've only scratched the surface, so I mainly use that for photos. It won't work on Linux, but I have another computer dedicated to Windows.Yes, I know.. and it's [gimp] the only one I'm familiar with at all.
