Too bad the hawk did not get the tree rat. Those things have gotten into my attic and destroyed things. They eat fruit off my fruit trees every year. They eat the bulbs I plant. They eat bird feed so the birds never get any. They carry rabies. Like them? layful:

I get a lot of squirrels where I live too, luckily they haven't gotten into the house or attic, my husband put up some wire coverings in certain places years ago, so far so good. I hear there's special bird feeders that the squirrels can't get to, they just slide down the pole and can't get at the seeds. I don't like them, but I don't want to see them die either...would be nice to relocate them all deep into the forest.

I've battled the hopeless fight of keeping squirrels away from my bird feeders and know they can do a lot of damage when the attack a home. But I still love the squirrelly little buggers.
