Head sleeping comfort...how important?

Has anyone bought A My Pillow?

If so..'happy' with it?
Recommend?

Same reason decades ago I a light sleeper, always dreaded sleeping on water beds though many others seemed fine. An even pressure on all body parts as well as our heads, is not always going to be comfortable over periods of hours. Might seem fine, nicely soft for awhile but after awhile when one prefers to reduce pressure on some body parts, there were no options.

I still use old fashioned goose down pillows. The ones I buy are expensive but they last a long time. Can't sleep on foam.

When I was young there were companies that cleaned the feathers from pillows and then blew them back Into new ticking to refresh them. Haven't seen such service advertised in years.

Our local dry cleaner used to ‘renovate’ down pillows.

A few years ago, Kohl's had these memory foam pillows for sale for $5 for their Black Friday sale. Cindy was one who never passed up a good sale, and bought about 20 of them.

Like my memory foam mattress on my bed, it "remembers" where you lay, and after awhile, you have no choice but to "...sleep there or in your chair", as Cindy always said. But with the pillows that is no problem. Once you sleep with one for about a week, the memory foam remembers that's where you put your head, and if you put your head anywhere else, it's not comfortable. With the bed that is kind of annoying.

I've always disliked the springy, spongy foam pillows many motels & hotels have been putting on their beds in North America. I do arrive at a way to sleep on them, simply don't like them.

I bought a new pillow about 18 months ago, a rather traditional type. Feather & down core, surround by pure down... fresh, clean, and hygienic. It was okay at first and, after a break-in period of a couple weeks, it's been great. I just don't feel like taking it with me traveling. ☺️

I bought 2 queen sized pillows online last year. They are feather and something else, big fluffy but hold their shape. They are the fluffiest, softist pillows, but they are perfect for me. Now I have the perfect sleeping place.

I wash them with a bit of shampoo in the wash machine. Low heat and tennis balls in the dryer.

Once I replace a favourite pillow, I put the old one aside for travel. We don’t always take them. My new one are sold in a plastic bag with a handle. It makes a perfect carrier.

Now, what did I have for breakfast this morning?
That sounds like me... I'll be sitting here doing whatever, and I'll think I need to go and do this or that, and by the time I get my browser open... Poof, it's gone like the wind. But I leave the browser open, because when I go back to whatever I was doing I might see whatever made me think about it and then I can go do it. So now I keep a little notebook in my desk. When I see something that reminds me that I need to do something, I grab the notebook write it down.

I have all these little memory tricks that I do. Some of them work, and some not so much. For example, I was always forgetting my daily asthma inhaler. So when I open a new one, I write the date on it, and every morning when I take it, I put a hash mark on it. Then after the month is over I count the hash marks. I started doing that three months ago, and I only missed one day. And I can breathe a lot better...

When I get ready to go to bed, I set it on my desk, in front of my keyboard with my pillbox. I can't miss the stuff there. Well, I probably could if I didn't put my mind to it, knowing myself the way I do... 🤔

I have 3 pillows - 1 to lay my head on, 1 to hold against my chest and put my arms around, and 1 to put between my knees because I sleep on my side and don't want the top knee mashing against the bottom knee. Then there's a problem if I need to get up in the night, because they all get moved to the wrong places and I have to fix them back as they should be, which usually means I'm wide awake for 30 minutes. :(
