Headed for retirement, but with concerns...

I am getting close to retirement (within a year or so) and I am beginning to get nervous. My husband has been retired for 8 years and he traveled for his job. I was hoping to do some traveling (together) but he now says he has done all the traveling he is going to do, so where does leave me? I have lots of places on my bucket list to go see, not to mention our son doesn't live close by so that involves a plane trip( which he would pay for!) has anyone else run into this situation? I don't want to sit at home for the rest of my days ....I'll stay working before I do that!

Do a little networking on FB to find a travel companion.

Join the local senior citizens or some other group and find a woman your age that enjoys travel, fill the refrigerator with enough food and water to keep your husband alive until you get back from your adventure.

Also take a look at some of the cruise ships and arranged tours, some of them have waiting lists for singles that are willing to share a room and split the costs.

If all else fails go it alone and enjoy yourself!!!

Good luck!

I live alone and do travel, mostly to family and they pay my way...since I'm the only poorer one in the family and the only widow.

In 2015 my son paid for my trip to Maui with them. That was fun but I'm also the babysitter to the grandsons so I'd love an adult type trip once before I die.

I'm not complaining because I love visiting family and trips with them but I'd like to try something different.

Ive been looking for some cheaper shorter trips that are in California but haven't found any to my liking or finances.
