Lack of sleep 😴 linked to heart disease risk.

According to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, people who have
high blood pressure and sleep less and 7.5 hours a night may 'face' a greater risk
for heart disease and stroke.

One reason for this...is that short sleep periods deprive the body of the necessary dip
in blood pressure
that regular sleep 😴 provides.

Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to other health risks, diabetes and obesity.
It is advised talking to your physician, if you are experiencing difficulty sleeping.

Very interesting and make sense.

Sleep may be affected, but it was proven before 1950 that diet was more important and was responsible for most health problems between wwI and 1960. Between about 1950 to 1960 and later, drugs rapidly became the main cause of disease and death, re ama and cdc statistics, etc .

When I was a young woman all I ever needed was 5 or 6 hours sleep a night, at most 7 hours. Now I sleep at least 8 hours. Maybe being old has something to do with it.

How about people with low blood pressure who sleep less? Or for that matter with high blood pressure who sleep more?

My blood pressure is quite low, but I don't always get 7.5 hours sleep.
