I was a registered hypnotherapist for many years and I observed three different type of patience who wanted to quite smoking [1] was the person who took personal response to quite and they needed a coach to say go for it. That type of person was going to quit with my help or without it 90+% cure. [2] The next group was the person who wanted me to make them quite smoking and did not take responsibility they want some one else to do the work. unless I could get them to become a [1] the failure rate was very high. [3] These are the people who through peer pressure where sent to me. Because they don’t have a problem the problem is with the person who sent them.
The people who did quit and if you asked how the answer are as varied as the people what worked for, one person did not work for another but they all took personal responsibility to quit.

Although this is an observation of smokers it applies to all health a cancer patient who says [1] I am going to do what is necessary to be health might go to Mexico or change his diet or take baking soda but what ever he has taken on the responsibility to cure his cancer. Usually it was a big life style change.
[2] Go to the doctor and give him the responsibility of curing the disease. Cure me doctor that is what I am paying you for and not taking the responsibility for your cancer.
[3] These are the people who are push into therapies that they don’t know anything about except they where told they needed peer pressure. Some times it is family and friends that push you to go and have treatments that you know nothing about.

A close family member of us had prostate cancer and we did not know it was diagnosis years ago and only his wife knew he when for 10 years with this problem and when the other in the family found out they pressured him into therapy he lasted 4 months.

All chronic ailments fall into the same category.

For emergency and surgeries when necessary the doctor are the people who you need and they are good at that type work.
