The past few days I have been dealing with my daughter being sick,at the clinic yesterday, they sent us for x-rays and the results were that she has pneumonia. Exept for the medication ,everything else is paid by medicare. I argue with others that complain about the waiting period, and yes,it could be 5 hours but you can pay 4 dollars and go home and they notify you 20 min before your turn.

It angers me that we have this system, and it is not aprreciated.caant stand the whining.

How is it in your part of the woods?

Vicky, you have Medicare in Canada? I thought it was like the NHS in the UK? Hope your daughter gets well very soon.

I'm very happy with the care I get in Scotland, but then it might be different if I lived in a big city. Longer waits in big cities. But not where I live. And we never pay anything at all - not services of meds.

Vicky, I hope your daughter feels better soon. We currently have the Affordable Care Act, which is still expensive health care, but nothing compared to the way is was before President Obama made some changes. Ideally, we'll go to a Single Payer or Universal Health Care system, which is what I believe you have there in Canada. Everyone I've ever spoken to from Canada is very happy with the health care there. There's whiners all over unfortunately, some have legitimate gripes and some just like to complain....grass is always greener on the other side type of thing.

Thank you both, the medication is starting to help.

Yes the gov insurance which you pay a certain amount every year but its well worth it.

There is nothing better than everyone being able to have access to medical care.

Totally agree. Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. In Scotland and Wales we pay zero for prescriptions, but in England they still have a co-pay.

Ameriscot, here too we pay for medication, but comparing to Greece,I am not complaining.family there are having hard times.
