Hearing aids ads on tv

Even though I'm a Vet, I bought my hearing aids thru Advanced Affordable Hearing website. I got the HCR3 ones that are rechargable. They were around $248 each, but they sure work. They have an on/off switch, volume control and program button to set the right hearing sound.

Had bought another pair, from another website, but the volume control had to be adjusted off of the ear with a small screwdriver. There was also a sound that came thru that I simply couldn't get rid of. This set cost us $85, but we sent them back and got our $85 back. The old saying "cheaper doesn't always mean better" really applied to these.

I have moderate hearing loss. I have Oticon hearing aids. They work great but are terribly expensive and only last 4 to 5 years if you are lucky. I also get free batteries and great service. I won't be going back though. This is my second set and just can't afford another pair. Almost $3000.00 per aid, sometimes with a little discount. I don't even have the top of the line. The ones you see on TV are just amplifiers and not a true aid. This time I will shop around and recently saw that stores will begin to carry true hearing aids. I wish medicare would offer some discount on aids.

BTW, the customer service with Advanced Affordable Hearing is absolutely terrific. When I got the hearing aids, the kit came with some different earbuds/cones and I really didn't know which to use. I called customer service and was given a Hearing Specialist. I read the numbers to him that was on my Hearing Exam and he totally pointed me to which earbuds/cones to wear.
