We're back again from the deep south of the Midlands - otherwise known as Salford, Manchester. After many years living in apartments, our elder daughter has bought a house in well established suburban area of the city. The houses look modern, but were mostly built during the inter-war years.
The photos are not of DD's house, but shows the same style of houses on the estate. The houses have small, sunny gardens a the rear and there is a well tended large municipal garden a few minutes walk away. There are reasonable bus connections through the city and all single journeys have the same low price.
As for the house, it's very nice, but the previous occupiers botched just about everything. None of the internal doors fitted properly, so much of my time was spent adjusting and re-hanging the doors. Mrs. L meanwhile, made curtains and removed the superfluous phone and tv cables left by former internet providers.
That's it for the minute, but I expect there will be plenty of decorating to be done.
