Hello,

It's great to find you all here!
By way of introduction I am a 61 year old woman living in New England, US.
I am looking forward to retirement in the not too distant future and I came here to learn how it's wisely and happily accomplished. In view of what I have already read here, I think I am in the right place.
I look forward to getting acquainted. Thanks for having me!

I thought I might add more information about myself. Although my education is in education I have been a bookkeper for 23 years. I'm good at my job and I like it most days, but I'm looking foward to kissing it goodbye.

I love word games, and I read a lot. I just finished The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant, and I loved it. I also love to knit, and make quilts. (Quilting by machine. Have never tried hand quilting, but I expect I'm too impatient.)

I have been very, very happily married for 27 years, but if the medical professionals are correct I will be retiring by myself. I can't imagine it. The rest of our household consists of 3 eccentric cats and a 9 month old great dane/lab mix named Alice. We did not want a puppy in the least, but sometimes the universe has another plan. Alice is a character!

I am so looking forward to the company here as we navigate senior-hood together. Where did the time go?

Hello and welcome, Loosey. I am also a New Englander....who has escaped from the ice, snow and slush and retired in Florida.
