In my search to find a place to go to talk to people my own age, I ran across this board. I'm hoping it's also for 50-somethings, because I'm 51 and not exactly a "senior", but I searched for 50's and over crowds and this discussion board was on the list.

What are the general ages of people here? Just curious, as I want to make sure I'm in the right place. I found another board where it was mostly 60's and above and I was called "still wet behind the ears" since I'm only 50'ish and they made me feel really uncomfortable, like I didn't belong there :(

Eh, age is only a number, I suppose. But I've found some people take it pretty serious, haha.

Hi Linda! You're in the right place 50+, I joined in my fifties, and now I'm in my early 60s. Many here older than me are much more knowledgeable in world affairs and computer technology, etc. than I am. We all have things in common and are young at heart, the number doesn't hold much weight here. :cool:

Welcome, Linda! You may be called a kid by some but it will only be good-natured teasing. I'm 63 and I don't mind being called a youngun by the 80+ crowd. :)
 
Welcome, Linda, to "THE" place! I snooped a bit: my folks once had a 15 year old son who gave them prematurely gray hair! It sounds as though you won't have that problem! imp
 
Welcome Linda..I've just had my 60th birthday..and I still get called a 'kid' by the elders of the forum..LOL..it's only light hearted banter, and personally I'm grateful that some people still think I'm a young thang...:D:D
 
Welcome Linda, you will be one of our "younguns" but that's what makes it all special here we are able to span baby boomers to oldies. My son was born in 1957.

Welcome, Linda! Even though this is a "senor" forum, I think you'll find that age isn't really relevant here. I hope you like it as much as we do. :D
 
Thank you all SOOOO much! It's refreshing to see a group of friendly people rather than a bunch of grumps :p. Nice to see sense of humor.

I've got to jump into some conversations eventually. I've just been so busy lately that I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my butt, haha.

Hi Linda ... welcome! ..how is everything in Buckeye Nation? ...
Being originally from the area, OSU, and Woody Hayes and "The Ten Year War" was part of my football life. :)
