Hi Dan. Nice to have you here with us. You're right that there is a good mix of people here from different places. Various men & women with different personalities, experiences, interests, dealing with their own unique personal challenges, and some laid back living the good life. All of them combined make this place like a stew. Now we have a pinch of Dan added to the stew. That should improve the flavor greatly.
:welcome:

Hi Dan, from 'Down under'

Hi Fern,

Looking at your avatar, are you really a rider?

I ride a 2007 Honda Spirit 1100. This is my wife and I on the Dragon in the U.S. last June.

Hi Dan welcome to the forum I am I guess last and often a little slow in welcoming.. you will enjoy it here
and looks like some already know of you.. I`ll look forward to reading your posts and comments..and getting to know you.

Thanks Rainee, it took me a couple seconds to notice the one tiger was blinking.

It's great to meet you Dan. :D

Thanks Joanie / Joan? Upstate New York, you aren't that far from me. I rode through New York taking backroads on my way down to PA. I was surprised to find some nice riding roads in New York, not as nice as some of your other states but still some nice riding roads.

Hi Dan, welcome to a one of a kind place. I like your bike! I used to have a Harley Heritage Classic. Sold it after realizing I spent more time cleaning the chrome than riding the bike. Might get another one but less chrome next time.

One of the guys I ride with rides a Harley, his famous line is chrome looks good at the side of the road but it won't get you home. Thanks for the compliment on my Honda, while I try to keep her looking good I put money into preventive maintenance first.

The Heritage Classic is a nice bike for sure. If you get another bike would it be another Harley or would you go with a different make? I know some like the Victory and the Indian is back. I'm vertically challenged so have to pick my bikes carefully.

My previous bike was a Black Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic, riding her was fine but the slightest incline was a problem when moving her with my feet.

You'll love this picture, you can tell I'm a Canadian, that's me sitting on my Vulcan.

Hi Dan, love the picture. Have heard good things about the Vulcan as a hardy and durable bike. I probably would not return to the Harley world instead moving to something like the Honda Goldwing. Comfortable, stable platform with a reverse. But, it is heavy and as I get older I seem to get shorter so will have to watch those inclines.

I love bikes, Dan. But, have to stay off 'em because I get too crazy, go too fast and crash.

I completely missed this reply. Highside is never a good way off of a bike. I'm hoping that was not actually a video of you but one you found somewhere to post.

A motorcycle crash is a rider with experience. ;) It's very rare to find a rider that has never been down, even if it's falling over at a stop light.
