I am more of a night person and thought I could learn more from others that are of the same age group in making the most of this stage of life. I am hoping that at some point I can be a productive member and make new friends.

Hi Pamelia...the good thing about this forum is that like me near London England there's many from outside of the USA so there's usually someone on at most times of the day or night, so you should always have some company!!

Hi Pamelia...My Daughter in Law is from Louisiana....She has been here in New Jersey since 1990..
When she came here we didn't understand her when she talked...She now has a New Jersey Accent...

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. One day I hope to travel to England to meet you in person. Since getting the Fire Stick, I have fallen in love with Britbox and anything and everything associated with your country. I've even started tracing our family roots which begins there. Good to know. That "voice" was ever-present in my life up to now. Retirement has a different "voice" and I think change is good sometimes. Now, more about that shortcut.
 
She lucked out. Although I love my home, I must say that I have wonderful memories from all of my many visits to New Jersey and Brooklyn while staying with my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. I'm not sure if it is the accent from here, or the fact that everyone talks at the same time and if you have something to say that you want to be heard you have to talk pretty fast.

Some days. Jim, I'm not sure which it is, so I just opt for growing. You need water, and water we have. Wish I could send you some of ours. Thank you for the welcome.
 
Thank you, John, for the welcome and for your service. I have friends that live there, but I don't visit that often. When I was in school, Lake Charles was a respected community. Unfortunately it has gone down as the crime rate has gone up. Hopefully, it will one day be that safe and nice place again.
