Hi there - I'm Linda Jo in North Idaho - My username is from the initials. I'm a bookworm and writer, and I've been on YouTube for a few years now.

I'm currently living in a senior 55+ apartment that I moved into a little over five years ago. I'm planning to move out to live in a high-roof cargo van that will be my bedroom and will have a desk and bathroom as well. My intention is to travel and sight-see, and write about it on a blog and maybe eventually a book as well. I will also be looking for volunteer or work-camping opportunities. I am still able to work. Anyhow, the adventure will start probably in May, if my van is ready by then.

I am here for the never-ending opportunity to interact with others, and especially -- seniors!

Welcome to the forum, Linda Jo, from another North Idaho native ! I grew up in Sandpoint, and also lived in Bonners Ferry for many years, and Idaho is still (and always) the place where I live in my heart.
After being a vagabond most of my adult life, I am now pretty much settled down way out here in northern Alabama, because my only daughter lives here, and I want to be close to her.
I do not miss the cold and snow from Idaho one bit, and I like that our here , it comes in inches and not feet, and stays for hours or days, and not months.
Looking forward to hearing more about your life in Idaho !

Well, right now it looks cold and white and even from my window I can see it was more than an inch. So glad I'm not out in it. My apartment comes with double-pane windows.

I went to Bonner's Ferry for the first time a few months ago. I'm planning to go back before I leave North Idaho in May or June. I've been to Sandpoint more than that... and made videos. Would you like to see?

Sandpoint, a few years ago

Drove through Bonner's Ferry (seriously, left out most of my footage of the town)

I was just chatting with my friend, Joy, who lives in Sandpoint, and she said they have about 3” of snow this morning, and it looks like the weather forecast is calling for more over the next few days there.
I will check out your videos !

Ellejay, my mom spent time in McCall, Twin Falls and Kuna... I was fortunately able to visit her during her times in Idaho. I was born and raised in the Walla Walla, WA area so shopping in Lewiston and Clarkston was common. Good luck on your road trip...

Hiraeth - McCall seems like a beautiful town. I went through there in January 2017 - there was a lot of snow but I got directed to that road from Boise because the highway into Oregon was shut down due to ice. McCall - apparently a ski resort? I'd like to go back during summer months. Twin Falls is on my itinerary for next summer.

Hi ElleJay,welcome to this friendly site.
One of my hobbies is reading books. I have a journal where I've written down all the books I've read since 1990.Its interesting to look back and see what different ones I've read over the yrs.
I'm glad you found us Sue in Buffalo,NY

Hi Sue in Buffalo - that's so cool you kept a journal of all your books! I didn't - but tried to remember most of them and made year-categories at Goodreads, to record what I've read. Probably not everything is there - but I tried.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes!

Donna - maybe we'll meet on the road somewhere! I'm looking forward to the nomadic life. I have nothing holding me back, so I'm going for it.

Welcome!

I'm a former pro-rodeo Team Roper and knew a few rodeo cowboys that lived in Idaho. I was in Boise years ago, before heading thru the mountains to Bozeman. Idaho does get the snow, but this time of year, Christmas, I really like seeing snow. Imagine hearing the song by Bing Crosby, White Christmas, in Florida???

Wife and I are making plans on heading back to live in Colorado, next June. We are currently in northeastern Florida and don't like it anymore. Been here almost 10 years and should have left way before now, but finances rule. Lived in Colorado for 5 1/2 years and absolutely loved it, even with the cold/snow months. Looking forward to getting back.

Definitely not a life (nomadic) for wife and I...………..and, isn't it sort of dangerous at our age? Just thinking about the way people drive out there these days.

The nomadic life can be great if you have the guts for it. For several years we wandered around aimlessly for months at a time. It was a great life.
