Help! I Need Some Sugar Free or Low Sugar Dessert and Low Sodium Snack Ideas

yea, well the attempt to eat 'healthier' is now history.

I'm back to eating what my palate craves. when I make pasta, I also make garlic bread. making pizza with a cauliflower crust is labor-intensive...
I have found that whole grain pasta does not raise my blood sugar so I don't feel as guilty when I eat it. I have yet to try the cauliflower pizza. They sell it at Costco and at the local supermarket. But there's never enough room for the boxes in my freezer. I sure hope you didn't gain much of your weight back. Been there...done that. I know I've gained back some of the 26 pounds I lost but hopefully not too much. I haven't weighed in a couple of weeks.

Aldi's has low sodium sweet potato chips that I like. Sometimes cut up veggies are pretty good but I know they sound boring. I have to watch the salt and sugar intakes, too.

I get low sodium produce snacks too. They are snap peas with spices and are pretty good. I forgot the name brand, sorry, but they are in the produce section.

If I think of more I'll get back to this thread ☺️.

Thank you. Actually veggies don't sound boring. I made a pot of cut green beans with onion flakes and it tasted pretty good...even had a bit of a sweet taste. I mentioned previously that I love broccoli. I'm thinking to snack more on the veggies I like. And Alexa makes these sweet potato puffs...they are SO good! I put a little I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray, cinnamon and Splenda on them. My oldest grandson and I said they could be dessert. There's 10 gms sugar and 230 gms of sodium in 2/3 cup. I love the puffs but don't like Alexa sweet potato fries.external-content.duckduckgo-3.jpg

One of the issues with food labels is that they are allowed to deceive consumers. One way they do it is by listing the Sugar & the carbohydrate separately. 100% of the carbohydrate we eat is converted to glucose. A small 2/3 cup of Alexia puffs has 24 gms; not 8 gms.
Important for diabetics.

Alexia Sweet Potato Crispy Bite-Sized Puffs
Total Fat 4g5%
Potassium 160mg2%
Total Carbohydrate 24g9%
Dietary Fiber 2g7%
Total Sugars 8g

Good points and information Win. Thank you. It's interesting the label you posted differs from the one I have in my freezer right now. I just got these maybe a month ago. So I wonder if the label you posted is brand new or from an older version of the puffs.

It's possible that your state has different regulations, that are only required to list the sugar on the label. Very deceptive, but of course it sells more product.

Back a few years ago when I was watching my figure, I found a recipe for chocolate mousse made w/avocados.
You added unsweetened cocoa and almond milk, may be some vanilla too. I sweetened it w/sweet-n low.

Made it in a reg ole blender, and it was quite good.
