Helpful suggestion for those suffering in wildfire smoke

I agree with @Timetrvlr. We have a few portable fans with Hepa filters.

Even when the air outside is okay, sometimes people are doing their laundry with those toxic dryer sheets; if we open the window, that air comes right in. But even without the toxic "aroma", the air can have a decent amount of dust in it.

In either/any case, we just turn on the filter fans for a while and that seems to take care of it.

DH bought the first one when there was smoke and ash thick one year. Then he bought the other two, and they have seen very little use, but they are there in case. Yes, I have COPD and on oxygen all the time, except at night when I often find the cannula under my chin or on the floor beside the bed. I suspect in my sleep I dislike the cotton picken thing and throw it on the floor! :ROFLMAO:

Buy a quality air purifier system
You bet

In summer, we get the wildfire smoke
We found that closing up the place in the day, and opening a couple windows at night made things more breathable

But

we put a box fan in those two windows
And taped furnace filters to those fans
Cheap, and very effective

When the smoke is too bad that we can’t open windows, we turn on the fan on the furnace or run the AC.
