'lung decease' is actually a very accurate term!Hi SandyR. I listened to that with great interest.
It is a dirty habit; my husband smoked for over 30 years and went "cold turkey" giving it up. He said when he got the craving, he reached for barley sugar sweets., which did help. Once it was out of his system he never smoked again. It can be done. A friend of mine smoked from when she was 14 until she was 78 and ended up on oxygen with chronic lung decease. She spends her days in a Nursing Home gasping for air. It's a terrible sight. And now Vaping seems to have taken over from cigarettes with the young people., the Vapes are just as deadly as they have nicotine in them.
Are you serious ? If that was actually true, everyone would be doing it. The truth is that "quitting smoking " is all about NOT SMOKING. I smoked for years, and I quit by reducing the number of times a day I smoked, and extending the time between smokes, to the point where I was only smoking 3 a day. THEN I stopped smoking . Period. JimB.There are tow pressure points on the ear, one is to
stop smoking, the other to lose weight, one at the
top of the ear and the other on the lobe I believe,
I can't remember which one is for smoking, or losing
weight, you will need to try yourself to find out.
Sorry.
Mike.
Similar to acupuncture points in those areas for smoking or weight loss. Not for me, no wish to be a pin cushion. There are tow pressure points on the ear, one is to

Accu PRESSURE. No pins involved. Just squeeze.Similar to acupuncture points in those areas for smoking or weight loss. Not for me, no wish to be a pin cushion.![]()
For the procedure that Mike referred to, yes, but pins are also used in those areas for both smoking and weight control.Accu PRESSURE. No pins involved. Just squeeze.
Not on ME they aren't!!!For the procedure that Mike referred to, yes, but pins are also used in those areas for both smoking and weight control.
After 45+ years of smoking, the "wanting to quit" was the only successful approach I tried.Smoking is an addiction. And the only way to stop smoking is to want to stop. Without that determination to stop, you can't. One thing nonsmokers don't understand is that smoking is quite pleasurable, as well as addicting. There are supposedly all these "ways" to stop smoking, but self determination is the vital component. You have to want to stop. Only you can give yourself that.
Thanks for sharing, OSCash. Thankfully, I've never smoked, other than trying it when I was very young. Didn't take me long to figure out I couldn't breathe! I have friends that smoke and it's hard to watch them coughing and rasping and keep my mouth shut... They already know.Hi SandyR. I listened to that with great interest.

Hard to imagine they continue to smoke, but I've seen it too.If people just realised the enormous suffering in store for them from disease, they wouldn't take it up. I feel sorry to see young smokers but impatience when I see old people smoking, especially outside hospitals. I know someone who is nearly 90 who still smokes despite having had cancer three times. Ludicrous!

Congratulation, Blessed! You've accomplished a really hard thing. As time goes by you'll think about it less and less and the rewards will add up. At this time in my life I would have no social life at all if I still smoked. None of the 16 members of my book club smoke, none of the friends I go to lunch with smoke, none of my neighbors smoke. The only times I think about it now is when I go out to sit on the porch, and that's probably because I used to do all my smoking on the porch to keep my family from having to breath it..I am about 10 days from my two year anniversary.
That's true about thinking less and less about it. One day you'll realize you've stopped counting the time and it's truly a non issue in your life.Congratulation, Blessed!
